OREGON Lottery Launches Scoreboard Sports Betting App

Mobile sports betting is now legal in Oregon, thanks to SBTech, a global leader in sports betting technology and solutions. SBTech, in partnership with the Oregon State Lottery, launched the first legal Oregon Sports Betting App.
Sports fans in Oregon can wager on a wide range of events through the new sports betting platform ‘Scoreboard’.

Last year, the Super Court of the U.S. overturned a federal ban on sports betting. With this new launch, Oregon will join the other seven states to offer legal live sports betting app.
Sports fans may place bets via the Scoreboard app and Oregon Lottery Sports website, with in-person sports betting kiosks set to launch in 2020. The Oregon state lottery officials expect the first year’s numbers to reach $300m in wagers.

The app uses Geofencing technology, global positioning to determine the user’s location. In simple words, Oregonians can gamble on the Scoreboard app only if located within the state of Oregon. Not to mention, a player has to be 21 years or more to use the app.
With Oregon sports betting app, players get paid in real dollars. Players must establish a funding account in order to place a bet. The new Oregon sports betting app will be insured by the FDIC and won’t hold more than $250,000 per account. Certainly, SBTech has the right to review individual bets and report the fishy activities to lottery officials for further examination.

The citizens of Oregon approved the initiative petition to launch the Oregon Lottery in November 1984. The Oregon state lottery began selling tickets on April 25, 1985.

The Oregon Lottery estimated the Scoreboard app would bring a revenue of $141.2m for the first 3 years after the launch. Furthermore, the state lottery expects the app to bring a net profit of $37 million on $1.6 billion in sports betting for the span of the first three years of app usage.
